Frequently Asked Questions
How long does the charter last?
Day charters are full day trips (at least 8 hours) unless bad weather or other circumstances demand an early return to port. We also provde multi-day charters and are happy to put together a package for up to 8 persons (using two boats) to suit your requirements.
How many people can I bring on my charter?
Legal Action is surveyed for up to 8 passengers but for maximum fishing space, comfort and safety on fishing charters, the limit is 6 persons for softbait charters and 4 persons for jigging, stick bait and deep water charters. However, if you have a larger group (up to 8) we may be able to arrange a second boat.
Can I bring the kids on my charter?
You are welcome to bring children 10 years of age and older.
What time does the boat leave on the charter?
If you have chartered the boat, the departure time is entirely up to you.
For share charters the departure times are set to suit the majority of the crew.
To be fair to all on a shared charter, the boat will not wait for more than 15 minutes after the arranged meeting time.
The final departure time will be agreed after 7.00pm on the night before the trip.
Where is the charter departure point?
Charters depart from the Sulphur Point boat ramps Tauranga, unless arrangement to depart from an alternative port is agreed prior to the day of the charter.
Do you do charters from ports other than Tauranga?
